5Took time but it WORKED!Sep 22, 2009
By Marty
Spouse ordered, just started using, will report on results later. Strange labeling on box, Pictures all over box of fungus infected nails compared to healthy nails. Box includes nail clippers and files. Box has red banner "Myocide Nails Fungus". Box states no need to remove nail polish or acrylics. However, when you read the directions it states "This product is not effective on scalp or nails". What? FDA?
I contacted the manufacturer about this confusing label and received a very prompt and informative answer. Short version, the FDA does requires this on the label.

Update: it took about 6 months of daily use (2x a day) but the fingernail fungus cleared up and the nail is normal. The product works and is much cheaper and safer than prescritpion oral medciation.

1Total ScamNov 06, 2010
By Businessman
Due to basketball injuries on my big toes, I have had fungus growing under them. A common problem.

I went to Fred Meyers to pick up a product that would work, and paid around $14-15 for the product--the most expensive I found.

The box has a total of eight (8) pictures of healthy and unhealthy toe and fingernails--photos comparing the two side by side. The most predominant 4 photos on the very front top of the box.Two unhealthy nails (infected with fungus) and two healthy nails next to it.The box is labeled with a large "Mycocide Nails Fungus" in red across the front of the box. The box also includes 2 dual-sided nail grinders in the box. This product obviously is a fungus treatment for nail fungus.

Not so.

This is a very common and troublesome problem that many are looking for a cure for.

In reading the fine print on the label of the actual liquid bottle inside, however, it reads "This product is not effective on scalp or nails"

WHAT--it isnt for nails????

In reading the box closer they are clever to never say it DOES take care of nails. They just print nails all over the box, have large letters that says the product "Nails fungus" (play on words) and then includes two nail files inside.

Total scam.

2Alergic ReactionSep 05, 2009
By Randall C. Anderson "Arceyea"
Was hopefull this product would help me with my minor toenail fungus problem. After use as directed for two days and nights the skin between my toes reddened and eventually blisterred and peeled. A week later I still have itchiness, discomfort and reddening.
There was no warning in the advertising or on the package.
So I'm left with a very partially used bottle and an unopened 2nd package that I can't use.

4Very good product, worth the cost, although higher than other OTC medicines in this category.Dec 07, 2013

I'm willing to give this product a chance. I'm a competitive runner with a persistent problem with toe fungus. I have tried other products with minor success. I just started using this product a few days ago and can tell you it's working. I took a photo as a baseline to compare the progress of healing. The nail files are quite useful in the treatment process. The success of my treatment will probably depend on how well I stick to the treatment plan.

As far as the skepticism about this product due to the statement on the package about not being effective on nails, the ointment is not meant to be applied to nails as one might imagine. It will not work to nails that are already affected. Instead it must be applied to the skin bordering the nails. Many products make the same statement on their packages. So I suggest you don't let that negatively influence you about Mycocide.
